Part II

As I mentioned in my last blog, featuring Grupo Xcaret Parks and Tours Part I, I will go in-depth on all the Xcaret Parks and Tours for you. My last blog post focused on Xcaret Park, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, and Xoximilco.  Today, I will focus on Xel-Ha, Xavage, Xenses, Xenotes, Xichen, Tulum, and Coba. 

If you are staying at Hotel Xcaret Mexico or Xcaret Arte, transportation to and from these parks is included with your hotel stay, along with entrance into these one-of-a-kind experiences.  These parks are unlimited with your stay at Hotel Xcaret Mexico and Xcaret Arte – you can go as often as you like!  This is an exceptional added value to your stay at Hotel Xcaret Mexico and Xcaret Arte. Shuttles will run every 30 minutes to Xenses, but Xel-Ha, Xavage, Xenotes, Xichen, and tours with Tulum and Coba will need to be scheduled in advance.  You can make your park reservations 30 days in advance of your stay at Hotel Xcaret and Xcaret Arte. 

There is also a Photo Pass system at these parks, where you scan your bracelet at photo locations in the parks and take a picture.  You then have an option to purchase the downloads of these pictures.  ID is required at the parks, and don’t forget to bring your credit card/cash for additional purchases!

*Important Note – only sunscreen/sunblock containing titanium oxide and zinc oxide is allowed in these parks. 

Now let’s discuss all these eco-friendly parks and tours!

XEL-HA Park

An eco-park with more than 20 activities with something for the whole family.  You can snorkel in the inlet, climb the 131 ft. tall scenic lighthouse with 360-degree views, and then splash down the waterslides to the bottom, tube the river, glide on the ziplines, bicycle through the jungle paths, and more.  Also included is your food, non-alcoholic beverages, and an open domestic bar!  Remember to wear comfortable beachwear, swimming suit, and water shoes are recommended.

*Must show ID at the park! Children over 4 feet 8 inches but under 12 years of age must present identification to verify their age.

Included in this park are the following:

Extra adventures available for purchase (separate fee paid at the park entrance) include the following:

Snuba Xel-Ha Caleta – This is a family adventure (with a minimum age of 8 years) at the natural cove in Xel-Ha where everyone can enjoy this new snuba experience with a guide.  Duration with instruction is 1 hour.

Snuba Xel-Ha Cenote – This snuba adventure lets you explore underwater caverns in a cenote at a depth of about 20 feet with a guide! (Minimum age is 12 years).  Duration is a total of 1 hour.

Sea Trek – Enjoy walking around at the bottom of the sea with an innovative helmet allowing you to freely breathe underwater (Minimum ages is 8 years).  Duration time with instruction is 30 minutes.

Sea Trek Discover – Enjoy walking around at the bottom of the sea with an advanced technology helmet allowing you to freely breathe underwater (Minimum ages is 8 years).  Duration time with instruction is 30 minutes.

Adrenalina – This thrilling speed boat will take your breath away while performing 360 degree turns across the sea at 56 mph! (Minimum age is 12 and must be 4ft. 6 inches tall).  It is highly recommended to not eat an hour before this activity!

Dolphin Primax Xel-Ha – This swimming with dolphins program is characterized by activities filled with action and emotion. You will be amazed with their strength when they push you over the surface with the foot push activity!  Activities included are welcome, anatomy, physiology, behaviors, dolphin’s kiss, look, hug, sing, fast swim, claps, tail claps, free jumps, controlled free swimming, foot push, bar jump, and farewell.  Children 8 years old or under a height of 3ft 6 in must be accompanied by an adult (both pay).  Duration is 60 minutes with 15 minutes of instructions and 45 minutes of interaction.  *To protect the dolphins, the use of jewelry is not permitted (bracelets, rings, watches, etc).

Dolphins Interax – This family-friendly experience lets you interact with these beautiful animals in their natural habitat. You will take a close look and watch them swimming underwater; play with them, enjoy their hugs and kisses, and most of all, learn about their anatomy and behavior.  Activities include welcome, anatomy, physiology, behaviors, dolphin’s kiss, hug, sing, claps, tail claps, free jumps, controlled free swimming, and farewell.  Children 8 years old or under a height of 3 ft 6 in must be accompanied by an adult (both pay).  Duration is 45 minutes with 15 minutes of instructions and 30 minutes of interaction.

Stingray Encounter – This activity allows you to safely interact with this unique species and get to learn about their biology, anatomy, habitat, and their friendly nature. You won´t believe how soft their skin is!  These rays arrived at Xel-Há and adopted the Cove as their home, living in complete freedom and are completely harmless. and the duration is 30 minutes.  The minimum age is 5 years old (children under 10 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult).

Zip Bike Xel-Ha – Zip-Bike combines the best of bicycles and ziplines so you can make the best of sightseeing at Xel-Há. Glide pedaling to a maximum height of 23 feet during a 30-minute ride and discover the splendor of nature. If you love ziplines, adventure, and enjoy cycling, this incredible journey is over 1/4 mile long and you will be amazed with the views of nature under your feet.  Duration is 30 minutes and minimum height is 4.5 ft.

Manatee Encounter – This interactive experience will provide an opportunity to interact with this docile species, learn about their biology and anatomy, behavior, and interesting facts of the spectacular manatees of Xel-Há. You will be able to hug, pet, and feed them. This educational activity will show the importance of this species and the high risk they have of extinction due to the deterioration of their habitat and poaching.  Xel-Ha maintains a permanent program of rescue and conservation of manatees, contributing to the survival of the species.  Duration is 40 minutes and the minimum age is 5 to 10 years old. (Children must be accompanied by an adult during the activity, both pay).  Available Hours are at 2 and 3 p.m.

Power Snorkel – In this new level of the snorkeling activity, you’ll be able to move freely at great speeds and make swift changes of direction. Through the activity, you’ll have time for briefing and practice, a guided tour and free time to make your own way through the water.  Duration is 30 minutes and the minimum age is 12 with a height of 3 feet 11 inches.

XAVAGE

Are you ready for an unforgettable adventure? Discover six unique activities you can only find at Xavage Park.  Take your paddle and tour in a kayak along the only canals in Cancun, and then have fun on a Ropes Course with different obstacles and skill levels. Board a Jet Boat to feel the speed while having turns by narrow canals, to later take the wheel of a powerful Monster Truck, flying on a horizontal position on a zipline or rafting on the only whitewater rapids in the Mexican Caribbean.

Plus, there is a Children’s Area for kids from 5 to 11 years old where they can play in waterslides, with water jets, and bridges. Your admission includes unlimited food and non-alcoholic beverages.

XENSES

Xenses is Grupo Xcaret’s new park in Cancun and Riviera Maya. Test your mind and your senses while you slide, fly, and immerse yourself in fun.  Enjoy more than 15 activities with fantastic scenarios by land, air, and water.

*Must show ID at the park and the minimum age for this park is 5 years old.   Ziplines have a minimum height requirement of 4.5 ft and a minimum weight requirement of 88 lbs.  Avoid using a selfie stick, a floating cane, or a handler for sport cameras during the activities.  Slip and Bird Flight activities include water areas with a depth between 3.6 and 5.6 ft. It is recommended that for these activities, children under 4.2 ft, as well as adults and children who don’t know how to swim, don’t participate. Both activities are done individually.

XENOTES

If you are looking for a unique excursion, Xenotes has it all!  The Xenotes Tour combines the excitement of the jungle, the four types of cenotes that exist in the world, and the interaction with nature, through adventure activities in each one of the freshwater pools.

Assisted Rappel – Descend by means of assisted rappel until you arrive at the blue waters of Lu’um, a cavern cenote that’s surrounded by million-year-old rock formations.

Ziplines – Feel the adrenaline rush as you zipline over Iik’, an ancient cenote where you can also cliff jump from a height of more than 20 feet to immerse yourself in its refreshing waters.

Kayak – Admire the beautiful underwater gardens of Ha, a semi-open cenote where you can also kayak among its vertical rock walls of hanging vegetation.
