The North Fork: The East Coast’s Napa

Many travel to the West Coast to visit Napa Valley every year for its wineries, but here on the East Coast we have our very own version on the North Fork of Long Island, New York.

Long Island has two forks at its end, The North Fork and The South Fork. The North Fork of Long Island boasts many vineyards for tours, wine tastings, breweries, and let’s not forget the delicious accompaniments like oysters, cheeses, breads, and cured meats!

A trip to the East End is a great getaway for a long weekend, or several days where visitors can take full advantage of the beautiful beaches, chic hotels, and everything else the North Fork of Long Island has to offer! Check out these amazing wineries!

  • Macari Vineyards: Located in Mattituck and Cutchogue. Each have their own unique offerings – Mattituck serving as a large venue for babyshowers, weddings, etc., and the Cutchogue location a smaller space for a more intimate gathering.
  • Paumanok Vineyards: 127 Acres of estate grapes that are the only grapes used to make their limited quantities of wine annually. The Riesling and Chardonnay are exquisite and a must try here! Cheeses, salamis, and baguettes can be ordered to savor as you sip!

  • Jamesport Vineyards in, you guessed it, Jamesport! This vineyard caters to the hungry gatherers serving their delicious wines with brick oven pizzas, meatballs, oysters, and other mini plates. I highly recommend the 2018 Estate Orange Riesling and beautiful indoor and outdoor seating. Reservations are a must. Children permitted only Monday thru Friday.

These are just a few of the over 50 wineries on the North Fork of Long Island. Book your vineyard getaway on the East End with a Pineapple Escapes agent today at info@pineappleescapes.com!
