Beach Eats

I don’t consider myself a foodie, but I definitely like to eat!  No matter where we go – the beach, Walt Disney World, Las Vegas – one of my favorite things about vacation is trying new restaurants.

One of my favorite beach destinations is Pensacola Beach, Florida.  I grew up visiting the beach, and now I love to take my family there!  There are sooo many great dining options on the beach!  Not a fan of seafood?  That’s okay, the beach has everything from burgers to barbecue!  One of the best things about dining on the beach?  Two words.  THE VIEWS.

Top 5 Beach Eats on Pensacola Beach:

#5 – Shaggy’s

Shaggy’s Pensacola Beach is located on Little Sabine Bay, across from the Boardwalk, just a half-mile inside the tollbooth.  Shaggy’s has incredible food and drinks, not to mention the most extensive craft beer list on Pensacola Beach, all in a fun, island-style atmosphere with water views from every seat.

Looking for a great burger?  Shaggy’s is the perfect spot for you!

#4 – Crabs

Crabs on the Beach is located directly on the Gulf of Mexico.  The restaurant offers inside dining with breathtaking views, or you can sit outside on the open-air Gulf side deck, complete with fresh salt air breezes.  Be sure to check out their sushi menu!  And there’s a ‘lil crabbers menu for crabs 12 and under.

#3 – Red Fish, Blue Fish

This is one of my faves!  Overlooking the Santa Rosa Sound, Red Fish, Blue Fish is a casual beachfront Southern eatery with a bar, outdoor seating, and furniture made from reclaimed wood… the wood planks in the entryway were reclaimed from an old Coca-Cola warehouse north of Pensacola!  The restaurant features fun lawn games on “the best backyard on the beach.”

#2 – Flounder’s Chowder House

This seafood restaurant offers a fun & unique atmosphere with indoor/outdoor dining and views of the sound.  Flounder’s features live entertainment as well as real confessional booths, stained-glass windows, and an amazing gift shop!  Kids and adults can enjoy Flounders Beach complete with a playground and sand volleyball!

#1 – Peg Leg Pete’s

Peg Leg Pete’s is one of the hot spots on Pensacola Beach!  It’s a bustling, pirate-themed seafood restaurant featuring a children’s play area & raw bar.  There can be extremely long waits at Peg Leg’s during peak season so try for an off time!  And if you like oysters, be sure to try the sampler!

And who can forget about dessert?!  You can’t have a trip to the beach without ice cream!  The Ice Cream Shoppe on Via De Luna Drive offers a variety of flavors to satisfy your cravings!  Stop in to cool off with a cup or cone and a couple scoops of your favorite flavor!
