Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey Ship

Have you been on a Royal Caribbean cruise?  What ship have you liked the best?  I recently traveled on the Odyssey of the Seas and boy did we LOVE it!  The Odyssey is part of the Quantum class of ships from Royal Caribbean.

This ship has it all! It is approximately 1,200 feet long and has 16 decks.  It can accommodate 4,198 passengers at double occupancy up to a maximum capacity of 5,510 passengers, as well as 1,663 crew.  This ship also includes 15 restaurants, 2 pools, and 1 adult-only pool.   A few other things included are Flowrider surf simulator, a rock-climbing wall, a skydiving simulator, an observation pod, bumper cars, basketball court, a solarium, a Spa and Fitness Center, a theater, and a casino.  The North Star takes you on an aerial view high above the ship and rotates 360 degrees.  This was definitely a fun thing to do on board.  There is so much more to do as well!

The shows in Two70 and the main theater were all amazing!  Kids and adults were both entertained during sea days.  The Book was everyone’s favorite show so we actually went to see it twice!  The story and dancing in it was spectacular.  The Effectors was a superhero performance that got the crowd going and was also fun for the kids.

This Odyssey does have the Bionic Bar, which is a robot that makes your drinks for you!  We had to order one just to see it in action!  It was pretty fascinating to watch!  The restaurant choices were amazing as well.  We did the main dining room a few nights, and the food was delicious.  However, we did enjoy Windjammer buffet, Café Promenade, Sorrento’s Pizza, Café Two70, and many other places!  The kids love getting the ice cream flavor of the day on the pool deck.

We experienced this ship on our Mediterranean cruise though Italy and Greece; however, they do many different itineraries including cruises in the Caribbean leaving from Florida. In the summer, the Odyssey is mainly in Europe, but in the fall, it is mainly in the United States.  You definitely need to put it on your list to cruise on!

The staff were very pleasant and fun!  We had pool deck parties, White night, and of course formal night too.  We did this cruise over the Fourth of July and they did a virtual firework show on the big screen near the pool.  It was fun that they did try to accommodate the Fireworks in some fashion.

All in all, this ship has something for everyone of all age groups.  You can take dance lessons, play trivia games, go to the casino, relax, or even go to the spa.  The entertainment is amazing, and the food is top notch.  Contact your favorite Pineapple Escapes agent to get your next cruise booked on the Odyssey of the Seas.
