Hollywood Studios:
Hollywood and Vine Dining Review

When visiting Hollywood Studios, it is easy to feel you’ve stepped back to Hollywood’s Golden Age. If you’re looking for a bite to eat at an establishment where you can continue to enjoy the ambiance without having to dress up, look no further than Hollywood and Vine! Named after the famous intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles, where you can find the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this popular Disney establishment does a fantastic job recreating the 1920s feeling when film and radio were king.

Hollywood and Vine is just inside the park’s entrance near Echo Lake. When entering the park, you will continue down Hollywood Boulevard, past the shops, for one block, and take a left on Studio Drive. From the neon lights and art deco exterior to the inside of the 1920s cafeteria-style diner, the theme is carried out brilliantly! You won’t be out of place in your comfortable park clothing here, but you will still get to enjoy the old Hollywood theme. Hollywood and Vine may best be known for its character meet and greets, but the food shouldn’t be discounted in your decision to dine here.
Dining reservations are required for this popular character dining, table-service restaurant, so I suggest booking as early as possible. Breakfast service begins at 8:30 until 10:30 am. Lunch service begins at 11:30, and Dinner service starts at 4 pm. Hollywood and Vine offers full breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet options.
The breakfast buffet is $42 per adult, and $27 per child with endless options of traditional offerings like cereals, oatmeal, pastries, bananas foster French toast, waffles, bacon, sausage, frittatas, and breakfast potatoes. Specialties include an omelet station with all the trimmings to customize it, a delectable salmon and bagel casserole, and my favorite, chicken and waffles (Mickey-shaped, of course!). During this time, you can visit and play with Disney Junior characters like Doc McStuffins, Vampirina, Fancy Nancy, and Roadster Goofy. Breakfast here is the perfect way to start your day at the park. Though younger patrons enjoy the Disney Junior characters, older children and adults will also enjoy the experience.

Lunch and dinner are classic affairs, with visits from Minnie and her friends Mickey, Daisy, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto dressed in seasonal costumes. In true 1920’s fashion, Minnie’s “dinner parties” are quite the event! The theme of each season changes throughout the year. The New Year ushers in with a nod to Hollywood glitz and glam from January-March, followed by Spring Dining from mid-March until May, a fun, colorful Beach Dining theme to celebrate Summer, and fan favorites, Halloween Dining through November and Christmas to wrap up the year. Choosing a favorite season to enjoy this venue is challenging, as great care is taken in choosing character costumes for each. Minnie’s colorful, seasonal dresses are sure to “Wow!” whenever you go!
The characters make their way around the venue, taking special care to spend a decent amount of time at each table. So you won’t be rushed as they interact, give autographs and take photographs with you and your guests. You should find the restaurant cast helpful, often offering to take pictures and double-checking to ensure you could visit with everyone and never making you feel bad for extra photo opportunities or second visits when time allows. Meals will run you $59 per adult and $38 per child after 11 am. Buffet offerings include roasted pork, herb-crusted tenderloin, crispy pork belly, Asian glazed tofu (I don’t usually like tofu, but this was delicious! give this one a try!), oven-roasted chicken, peel-and-eat shrimp, and classic sides like mac and cheese, whipped potatoes, mushroom risotto, caramelized Brussel sprouts and various fresh breads and salads.
If you are parched after walking all day or need something to take the edge off after dodging the endless requests from your children for souvenirs, there are some excellent adult beverage options as well! Alcoholic drinks average around $15. I recommend the Captain’s Mai Tai and Celebrity Margarita.
Allow at least one hour to experience Hollywood and Vine, though a little longer would be ideal. This will allow you to take several trips to the buffet, interact with the characters and get some great pictures to memorialize the event. If you forgot your book and pen for autographs, don’t stress, postcards are provided, so no one is left out.

All in all, Hollywood and Vine is an excellent option for character dining when visiting Hollywood Studios. I think the prices are on par with other Disney character dining experiences. The food is good but likely won’t “knock it out of the park .”I appreciate that there are “safe” things that I know my children will eat while visiting over creativity and “fancy” or items that adults with more unique pallets might enjoy. The times we have visited, we have also found the buffet food to be refilled constantly, making for hot and fresh meals. Hollywood and Vine is worth keeping on your list of dining experiences to consider when visiting!
