Travel during a pandemic has changed the type of travel and how individuals travel.

Jamie is joined by Pineapple Escapes team member, Ashley Hunn, for this episode.

Ashley participated in agent training in Florida (with Jamie and the team) recently and had a great time. Ashely loved getting to know everyone and took advantage of the chance to have in-person conversations with other team members. Being at the resort in training mode helped her see things that will help her advise clients. When traveling with family she is more focused on her family, not venue information, safety policies, etc.

Is it possible to travel during a pandemic?

Of course, safety was (and is) the first concern.

Back in May, Jamie’s family took a road trip. They weren’t sure about flying (but have done so since) and wore masks and practiced social distancing even at the beach. With time, Jamie and her family have started traveling more, including several flights, but the choices they make during travel have changed.

Ashley shares details about her family’s road trip out west. In the summer, COVID restrictions were in place, but varied by state and location. Ashley discusses how she managed the trip and made the best of the opportunity to hike and participate in activities in the great outdoors where it was easy to stay distanced from others.

Both Jamie and Ashley’s families have found that the reduced activities have opened new opportunities for family travel. Ashley’s family flew to Vegas for fall break. Even though the shows and normal entertainment weren’t happening, they had a list of outdoor activities which her kids loved. Even during a pandemic, travel can happen thanks to COVID protocols in the airport, on the plane, and at hotels, to make it possible to travel safely.

Sling bags are a must-have when traveling. Sling bags are great for theme parks and other types of travel! Ashley’s bag is waterproof which came in handy during a downpour at Animal Kingdom!
