Let’s talk Vegas! This has become one of my favorite vacation destinations! It all started with a babymoon back in 2011, lol. My husband & I try and visit at least once or twice a year, either on our own or with friends. We finally brought our kids over fall break last year, and they loved it, too. There’s so much to see and do… luxury resorts and casinos, fantastic restaurants, world-class shopping, and endless entertainment for all ages!
For our family trip, we had a list a mile long of things to see & do – and that was during Covid travel before shows had reopened! One thing my kids pointed out is that you can see the Eiffel Tower, canals of Venice, and ancient Rome without ever going to Europe! But there’s so much more than just the glitz and glamour on the strip.
Las Vegas is an ideal spot for incredible outdoor adventures… we’ve taken day trips to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, and even a hot air balloon ride! It’s also a great base for visiting the “Mighty 5” national parks in Utah – Arches, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, and Capitol Reef (on my bucket list).
Both Frontier and Southwest Airlines offer non-stop flights from St. Louis (my home) to Las Vegas, and there are always great deals on vacation packages. Plus, there’s beautiful weather year-round… it’s one of the sunniest places in the country. We typically plan trips in the spring and fall, but we’ve also visited in July for a birthday trip. There’s something to be said for dry desert heat… I’ll take 100+ degrees over a sticky summer day in St. Louis!
If you’ve never been to Las Vegas, I highly suggest adding it to your list… and if you have been, it might be time for a return trip! Stay tuned for more on Vegas including an overview of resorts and that mile-long list of things to do!
