Best of 2022
Wow! 2022 turned out to be a year full of amazing travel opportunities that I will never forget! But as I get older, I realize it’s best to write things down (or blog about it!) because let’s face it, sadly even the best memories can start to fade over time.
I kicked off 2022 with a trip to Secrets Akumal in Mexico with a couple of my fellow agents and friends! We’d previously been on a site visit to this resort and were so excited to get back, explore more, and swim with the sea turtles in Akumal Bay (which we did twice)!! During our stay, we visited several other popular, adults-only all-inclusive resorts in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area including Atelier Playa Mujeres, Unico 20o 87o, and Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya – all great options depending on what you’re looking for!
Following my trip to Akumal, I traveled to New York City with my 16-year-old daughter for Presidents’ Day weekend. We had a blast touring the city and seeing sights including Times Square, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Central Park, the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Broadway shows, and more! For spring break 2022, my girls and I flew to Miami and cruised on Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas with stops in Bimini, Bahamas and Cozumel, Mexico. It was their first cruise, and they absolutely loved it! Check out the blog post here. We’re excited to cruise the Mexican Riviera for spring break this year… stay tuned for my blog post on all our cruising adventures.
In June, my daughter and I took a road trip to Nashville for a college visit to Vanderbilt University. We stayed at the Graduate Nashville, a super neat hotel in the heart of Midtown. It was the perfect spot for a girls’ weekend, and I can’t wait to stay in another Graduate hotel for our next college visit to the University of Arkansas.
Also in June, my family took another road trip to Pensacola Beach, Florida – I have family who lives nearby (a definite perk!) so we visit the beach at least twice a year. I may be biased, but Pensacola Beach is my all-time favorite beach… beautiful turquoise waters, white sugar sand beaches, and lots of wonderful memories. We wrapped up the summer of 2022 with a family vacation to Seattle and cruise to Alaska on Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas. We were joined by my brothers-in-law, fellow agents, and their families. This was definitely a trip that we’ll never forget! My next big adventure was my first trip to Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood in September! This was a FAM (familiarization) trip for our agents to explore and learn and more about Disneyland, Disney California Adventure Park, and Universal Studios Hollywood. It was such a fun trip, and I even ran into (almost literally) Azah from Big Brother’s Cookout alliance at our hotel! Celebrity sighting, check! My record-breaking (for me), third cruise of the year was a trade event on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas in November. Allure was the first Oasis-class ship to sail from Galveston, Texas, and my fellow agents and I had an absolute blast on board! We were handed cowboy hats as we boarded, a sure sign it was going to be a fun time! The last night of our cruise we were treated to a surprise concert from country singer Kelsea Ballerini and even got a photo op with her at the Hush silent party that night!
Last but not least, my youngest son and I took a last-minute trip to Walt Disney World in December for the holidays! We had so much fun visiting all four theme parks and Disney Springs. The weather was perfect and – not to be cheesy – so was our time together. Of course you can check out the blog post for that trip too here, lol.
