Boston For Families

Any time of the year, Boston is a great destination for families to take a trip to enjoy its history, fabulous food, and fun things to do for all ages in your group!

Entertaining your little ones is so easy to do in Beantown. Take a trip to the New England Aquarium right by Faneuil Hall. Your kids will enjoy the beauty of all the penguins, sea lions, sharks, and octopus, and that’s just the beginning! After your excursion, you can walk over for shopping and a quick lunch at Quincy Market where you’ll find so many options to choose from including “lobsta” rolls, clam chowder in a bread bowl, and some amazing chocolate chip cookies!

After your filling lunch, you can head on over to a Boston Duck Boat Tour that starts on land and ends in the water! These activities require planning ahead so make sure your Pineapple Escapes travel advisor knows which day trips you’re interested in booking, and she will be sure to make it all happen in your personalized itinerary when planning this trip for you.

Where to stay, you say? Boston is not short of amazing hotels to stay at during your getaway. One of my personal recommendations is The Liberty (a former jail turned hotel) complete with a jail-themed bar boasting mugshots of celebrities such as Jay-Z and Lindsey Lohan!

Another amazing hotel to consider is The Seaport Hotel. This hotel is marked as one of the “greenest hotels” and holds several restaurants and eateries on premises, making that walk to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts obsolete. Enjoy a takeaway breakfast at the Seaport Café in the morning, or wind down after a long day out and about, feasting at Tamo Bistro.

What about the history buffs? Go back in time and walk the path of Paul Revere. The marked path on the bricks will lead your way. I hope you packed your sneakers for this trail! It’s a long one!

Take a moment of silence to remember all who perished in the Holocaust by visiting the New England Holocaust Memorial, comprised of glass and steam rising from grates below your feet. The testimonials engraved in stone and glass are even more powerful when read aloud.  If your little ones get restless, you can cross the street to an open playground for them to run around on safe foam grounds – this is a well-maintained area for play, just watch your children as they climb the inclines to the slides.

End another day of exploring Boston with a family dinner on The North End, aka Boston’s Little Italy. I highly recommend Prezzo or Carmelina’s and stopping by an Italian bakery for mini pastries to take back to your hotel to enjoy later as you unwind for the night.

There’s tons more to add to your must-see/do list in Boston as you organize this East Coast getaway. Contact your Pineapple Escapes travel agent today and get planning!
