Traveling doesn’t have to be expensive. Samantha Harris joins Jamie this week to discuss budgeting and saving for travel.

Samantha is a mom of 4 and has been married to her husband, Donald, for 11 years.  Her background is in accounting and she originally decided she was interested in being an agent after traveling to Paris and there were inquiries regarding how she managed to pay for the trip.  She knew she wanted to help others travel more, even when it means traveling on a budget.

Samantha and Jamie’s kiddos are just returning to in-person school after being back home and completely virtual for months. Both Jamie and Samantha are hopeful for what 2021 will mean for travel and their families.

At The Core

With Samantha’s background in accounting, she is an avid budgeter and uses her accounting skills to make travel a priority for her family. When she was a single mom, budgeting for trips meant maybe only one day at Disney instead of a full week, but she figured out how to make it work and make those memories with her son.

Both Samantha and Jamie make travel a priority for their family. Travel comes before new cars, home remodeling, and other expenses. Both Jamie and Samantha originally started in the travel business as a side hustle in order to have more income to travel with their families as well.

How to save for travel out of each paycheck, putting money away before it is seen in the budget, using credit card miles and budget airlines effectively, using travel as gifts, and utilizing Disney gift cards are all discussed as ways to help budget for vacations and make those lasting family memories.
