The new CDC guidelines have many travelers concerned regarding international travel. Four of our agents, Ashley, Kate, Samantha, and Jamie, headed to Punta Cana to experience the new requirements firsthand.
Besides testing out the COVID protocols, we had a lot of fun together in Punta Cana and squeezed a lot of fun into a few short days. We loved the beauty of the resort, the excellent service, and delicious food choices!
On January 12, 2021, the CDC announced (https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/s0112-negative-covid-19-air-passengers.html) that they would require a negative COVID-19 test for all air passengers entering the United States. This has raised new fears for clients worried about testing positive and being required to quarantine overseas.
While our initial reaction was not a positive one, we decided to travel and experience the requirements firsthand to be able to share that information with all of you and our clients.
Overall, our experience with the new testing requirements was a positive one and we are very impressed by how the resorts are handling the new protocols and requirements. Our COVID tests were covered by the resort and they set everything up for us. The process was seamless.
This week’s travel favorite doesn’t have a Pineapple Ring rating yet as we are waiting to test these on an actual plane. The product is AirFly Duo that allows one to use Bluetooth headphones in situations where you typically need a wired headset – such as on a plane. Unfortunately, Samantha hasn’t had a chance to try these out on a plane yet, but she will update us once she has – she did say they worked well with her laptop and AirPods.
