Jamie is joined this week by Niki Jackson as they discuss the impact that COVID has had on the travel industry and their thoughts on the concept of revenge travel.

Niki has a background in education and is continuing to teach remotely part-time as she starts her travel business. Niki found Pineapple Escapes and was inspired by Jamie’s story of transitioning from educator to travel agent. Niki is a go-getter and is an asset to the Pineapple Escapes team. Niki learned so much on the recent Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando training trip with the Pineapple Escapes team. She experienced dining and other attractions that she would not have been able to do on her own. Her favorites were the VIP tour at Universal and riding Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure.

COVID-19 has had a drastic impact on the travel industry. Travel agents and travel agencies have spent most of 2020 rescheduling and canceling trips instead of experiencing the joy of seeing clients travel.

Niki joined Pineapple Escapes during the pandemic and feels that it has helped her to have the time needed to start her business through trainings and taking the time to truly understand the business.

Travel agents are an invaluable resource, now more than ever! They can help with all parts of travel and will help their clients navigate the safety protocols and determine the best places to travel currently. Walt Disney World, Mexico, Universal, the Caribbean, and Hawaii are all discussed, as well as flights and current safety protocols on flights as well.

Revenge travel is the idea that tourism will come roaring back to life once the pandemic ends – most likely with widespread vaccinations. Jamie and Niki discuss an article about revenge travel and what they hope 2021 will look like for the travel industry, their agency, and how all of it impacts cruises, flights, and travel.
