Do you love Halloween? Do you love cruising? Do you love Disney?? If the answer to all of these is an resounding yes, then a Halloween on the High Seas cruise with Disney Cruise Line is a must-do for you!
My family and I sailed on Disney Cruise Line’s Halloween of the High Seas for my husband and my son’s first cruise, and it did not disappoint! I have cruised Disney Cruise Line three times previously but never on a themed cruise. Our cruise was a five-night Caribbean cruise with stops at Georgetown, Grand Cayman and Disney’s own private island, Castaway Cay, in the Bahamas.
What is special to a Halloween on the High Seas sailing?
As soon as you board the ship, you are met with pumpkins and fall decorations including the Halloween pumpkin tree in the atrium. The Halloween pumpkin tree comes to life in its very own tree lighting ceremony complete with a spooky story.
(Tip: For extra Halloween decorations in your stateroom, you can pre-order room decorations that will be set up in your room upon arrival. This is an additional cost and is dependent on availability.)
Kids love to get dressed up in their favorite Halloween costumes and go trick-or-treating, and it’s just as much fun on a cruise ship! Trick-or-treat bags were provided to little ones to parade through the trick-or-treat line to collect their candy from multiple stations. My little one came home with a large bag of candy (that he didn’t need)!
In addition to Pirate night, you get to enjoy a second night of dress up and fun! The mouse-querade party is the same night as trick-or-treating so you can enjoy the fun deck party in your favorite Halloween costumes. Adults… you can (and should!) dress up too! Enjoy appearances from your favorite Disney characters in their Halloween costumes, complete with dancing and music!
Even if you met your favorite fun characters on another night of your cruise, you won’t want to miss out on the Halloween meet and greets! Meet your favorite Disney character adorned in his/her Halloween costume! (The pictures are more fun if you are in your costume also!) 2022 cruises also have special guests for the first time… Minnie Mouse, Clarabelle, and Daisy Duck are dressed in their Sanderson Sister costumes!
Disney Cruise Line is amazing on a “normal” cruise. Add in the extra theme decorations and activities and the experience was elevated that much more. It was an amazing experience for all three of us, and now I’m adding a Very Merrytime Cruise to my wish list! If Halloween is amazing, Christmas HAS to be even better! Right? Or is that just me? Are you a Halloween person or a Christmas person??? (Let me know in the comments!) Me? I love anything that is over the top, but… Christmas is my favorite season. Now, I have to book it right? (please email my husband and tell him now it’s important)
