Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is my favorite resort on Walt Disney World property.  I love how this resort brings out the animation, the color, and the little details of some of my favorite characters.  And you can’t forget the storybook landscaping!  

Art of Animation is considered a value resort option located near Disney’s Pop Century Resort.  It was opened in May 2012 and was last refurbished in 2020/2021.

The Art of Animation main lobby has a long wall displaying over 60 character renderings and sketches, showing them in order from creation to completion.  My favorite sketches are the ones of Ariel!  Art of Animation features Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King family suites.  The more traditional themed room is the Little Mermaid. 

Transportation

One of Disney’s Skyliner stations is located between Art of Animation and Pop Century Resort allowing guests to take the gondola to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios.  Bus transportation is available to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Epcot, Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Disney Springs, and the waterparks.

Room Types

If you are looking for the perfect Disney-themed room, then you certainly do not have to look any further than Disney’s Art of Animation. Offering guests standard rooms and suites, this resort will have you reminiscing about some of your favorite Walt Disney World animated movies. 

The Little Mermaid standard rooms sleep up to 4 adults and come in either a 2 queen bed or 1 king bed layout. 

If you are looking for a little more space or have a little larger family, then the family suites may be just the thing you are looking for. Each suite sleeps up to 6 adults and has 1 queen bed, 1 double-sized table bed, and 1 double-sized sleeper sofa. One of the best benefits to a family suite is that each suite has 2 bathrooms so getting ready for the parks in the morning will be a breeze. Depending on your movie preferences, you can choose either a Cars Family Suite, The Lion King Family Suite, or the preferred location with a Finding Nemo Family Suite.

Pools

Big Blue Pool

Is the largest resort pool in Walt Disney World Resort and was inspired by the Disney and Pixar movie, Finding Nemo.  The Big Blue Pool features a zero-entry with an interactive water play area making it a great option for families.  Snacks and drinks are available at the Drop off pool bar as well.

Cozy Cone Pool

Inspired by the Disney and Pixar movie, Cars, the Cozy Cone Pool features life-size models of Doc, Sally, Mater, and McQueen, and don’t miss out on the cone-shaped cabanas around the pool. It’s the perfect spot for families to cool down.  Pool lifts and other access options are available for guests with disabilities or limited mobility.

Flippin’ Fins Pool

Looking to relax and unwind after a day at the parks?  This pool features the “Under the Sea Orchestra” conducted by Sebastian from Little Mermaid. It’s tranquil and great for families.  Pool lifts and other access options are available for guests with disabilities or limited mobility.

Poolside bar with food, snacks, and quick-bite options such as pretzel with cheese and cheese curds. A variety of frozen cocktails, beers, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages are also available.

A  great grab-n-go option located in Disney’s Art of Animation Resort for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  I personally love their chicken parmesan pasta and cheese pizza dinner!
