Tucked away in Animal Kingdom in the heart of Africa is this hidden gem of a restaurant. This is by far one of the best meals that we ate while in Walt Disney World. My husband still talks about the delicious food we had there. My kids loved the food too, and they are picky eaters.
Tusker House Restaurant is a Character Meal Experience located in Animal Kingdom. Guests are required to make a dining reservation, and you must have a valid park reservation to enter the park as well.
Tusker House Restaurant offers Character Dining at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can look forward to seeing Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy all dressed up ready for their safari.
Once you step foot inside this restaurant, you will feel transported to a lively Harambi marketplace. The colorful atmosphere and lively music are a great backdrop to the great food.
Whether you decide to dine for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you will enjoy endless food served family style.
For breakfast, you can enjoy favorites like Mickey or Simba Waffles, Safari Bread, Durban Chicken, and Egg Curry.
Lunch and dinner offer Moroccan Spiced Beef (it’s amazing!), Berber Marinated Pork, Roasted Herb Chicken, and Green Curry Shrimp (I couldn’t get enough of the shrimp). To this day, my husband is still raving about the Moroccan spiced beef that we had. If you have picky eaters in your family (my trio sure are), they are great to work with. They have macaroni and cheese and yogurt and fresh fruit. My youngest loves chicken legs or “chicken on the bone” as James calls it. Well, James loved the roasted chicken legs so much, they brought out a whole plate just for him.
That is one of the best things about the cast members at Walt Disney World, they always try to go above and beyond to make your visit exceptional.
Don’t forget to leave room for dessert. The dessert trio was delicious. If you enjoyed dinner too much, you can always ask for them to box up your dessert to go.
Table Service meals while in the parks is not for everyone, some just want to grab a quick bite and dash off to the next ride. But I always enjoy booking at least one sit-down meal each day. It gives our family time to relax, talk about all the fun we are having, and what else we are looking forward to on our vacation. Having a set-aside time to cool off in the air conditioning is something I look forward to, but my husband always tells me I’m a foodie, always looking forward to that next great meal. He may be right!
On our last trip, I had a dinner reservation for 7 pm, and that was the same time the park closed, so as we were leaving there were very few people left in the park. We were able to take in breathtaking views of the Tree of Life without others getting in the way of our photographs. It was nice and calm with so few people in the park. I highly recommend that!
