Dreams Resort Favorites in Riviera Maya

I recently had the amazing opportunity to tour seven different Dreams properties in the Riviera Maya and Cancun, Mexico. Dreams resorts are in the Inclusive Collection, a part of World of Hyatt, and offer something for the whole family to enjoy. Below is my favorite thing from each resort.

Dreams Natura

The Spa. Anyone who has visited Dreams Natura will tell you the spa is remarkable. My favorite part about this spa is that it embraces and emulates a natural cenote – an underground cave – without leaving the resort’s comfort. There is also an area to create your own scrubs!

Dreams Aventuras

The Lagoon. Sargassum has been a big issue for resorts in the area in recent years, resulting in ruined beaches and, subsequently, ruined vacations. A thoughtful feature of Dreams Aventuras is a rock barrier that protects the beach and creates a lagoon – free of Sargassum and wild waves. Manatees and dolphins are also in the lagoon between the resort and the neighboring property!

Dreams Tulum

The Flora. Dreams Tulum has beautiful grounds to walk around, plenty of spots for photo ops, and beautiful trees and flowers. Unfortunately, there can be what seems like a TON of walking, and mosquitos are killer in some areas. Despite this, you won’t regret taking a stroll with your family and capturing timeless memories.

Dreams Sapphire

The Ocean Front View. The Ocean Front Rooms are the closest to and most picturesque ocean views I’ve seen at any Mexican resort. Waking up to the sunrise and eating breakfast outside just steps away from the water truly can’t be beat.

The Wedding Venues. A stand-out feature of Dreams Jade is one of their wedding venues. An outdoor beach wedding may seem idyllic on paper, but when the sun is beaming down, and the temperatures are high, it can cause a lot of guests to forget the romance and only remember how uncomfortable they were. At Dreams Jade, not only do you get a beautiful view of the beach and ocean during the ceremony, but when it is time to celebrate, immediately behind the altar and pews is an indoor (and air-conditioned) reception area.

Dreams Sands

The Beach. For families, especially ones with younger children, the beach and shallows at Dreams Sands seem like they last forever towards the sea. This allows the whole family to enjoy the ocean without the water being too deep or the sand too hot.

The Pools. Of all seven resorts, the pool options at Dreams Playa Mujeres really impressed me. From infinity pools, multiple swim-up bars, splash pads for little ones, and even a lazy river, it really had something for everyone! If, by some chance, you couldn’t find a pool that suited your taste on the Dreams side, adults could take a golf cart ride next door to Secrets Playa Mujeres and swim in the adults-only pools. For elderly guests or family who find it difficult to get in and out of pools, the Secrets side offers a zero-entry pool that they can easily enter.

If you’re not sure where to stay, or you think, “I’ve seen one Dreams property, so I’ve seen them all,” please take this last bit of insight from my trip: while they are all under the same brand, no two Dreams properties are the same, and each has their own unique features and benefits that set them apart from the other Dreams resorts. What it comes down to is what is most important to you. If you’re unsure or need help deciding, a Pineapple Escapes agent is more than happy to help ensure you have the vacation of your dreams at Dreams.
