Ashley, Kate, Samantha, and Jamie share their thoughts on Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, and CLEAR and share how these services can make travel more efficient and easier for frequent travelers.

Slice of Life

At Secrets Cap Cana we were able to stay in the Preferred Club side of the resort and loved the extra luxury and service that the Preferred Club provided. Some of the perks included butler service, an exclusive restaurant, pool, and beach, top shelf liquor, and poolside crepes!

At The Core

Global Entry – https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry

– Faster and less invasive security checks – do not have to remove laptop, electronic devices, liquids, and shoes when going through security line

– Express line through customs and immigration when returning to the US

– If you will be doing any international travel over the next 5 years, we recommend this option!

– Link included to apply. Must apply and have an in-person appointment at a US Customs and Border Protection location. You must have a valid passport to apply for this option.

Cost is $100 per person for 5 years. Must have for all family members, even minors.

TSA PreCheck – https://universalenroll.dhs.gov/workflows?servicecode=11115V&service=pre-enroll

– Same as Global Entry with the security check – must faster and express line.

– This is the best option if you only travel domestically and do not have a passport. If you will travel internationally at all in the next 5 years and have a passport, it is worth the extra $15 for Global Entry.

– If you’ll be traveling at all internationally, it’s worth it to upgrade to the Global Entry option.

– Average time for security with PreCheck is 5 minutes

– Link included to apply. Must apply and have an in-person appointment at a TSA pre-check location.

If you have Global Entry, it also includes TSA PreCheck for domestic flights.

$85 for 5 years. Minors 12 and under can go through pre-check with their parents. Minors over 12 must have their own pre-check.

CLEAR – https://refer.clearme.com/share/Jamie61 (Link gives you two months free)

– Cuts down the line even more. Scan eyes or fingers to bypass ID check before security. Do not have to show your ID and boarding pass to the TSA agent and skip the entire line. Extremely fast.

– Still need Global Entry or TSAPre to have the faster security experience.

– Cost is prohibitive and this really isn’t worth the investment unless you travel extremely frequently.

– Only a select number of airports currently.

$179 per year. Family plan with a spouse for $229. Minors are included with parents. Does not require an in-person interview while both TSA Pre and Global Entry do. Currently offering a 2 month free trial.

Crushed It

This week’s travel favorite is 4 1/2 pineapple rings and is for the Mother Lode Jr. Travel Backpack from ebags.

Samantha owns this backpack and it is perfect for packing in a backpack to save money with the budget airlines.
