Graduate Hotels

If you’re looking to visit a college town for a campus tour or sporting event, be sure to find out if there’s a Graduate Hotel in the area!  Graduate Hotels can be found in 30+ university-driven towns around the world… that’s right, even across the pond.  Each hotel is brimming with local culture and charm unique to each city, something you won’t find at most hotel chains.

In June 2022, my daughter and I took a road trip to Nashville, Tennessee, for a college visit to Vanderbilt University and our first stay at a Graduate Hotel.  We spent a night at the Graduate Nashville, a super neat hotel in the heart of Midtown that’s the perfect mix of Music City history and funky floral charm. 

The second you walk into the lobby, you’re greeted by an impressive hook-rug portrait of Grand Ole Opry star Minnie Pearl!  And we absolutely loved our guest room with a portrait of Dolly Parton hanging beneath the bed canopy.  The hotel is just steps away from the city’s best dining and entertainment… for dinner, we took a short walk to Hattie B’s for some Nashville hot chicken and banana pudding! 

It truly was the perfect spot for a girls’ weekend!  Bachelorette party, anyone?  White Limozeen, the hotel’s rooftop bar and restaurant, pays homage to Parton’s 1989 album and the title song.  White Limozeen is 21+ after 7pm, and reservations are required for dining and pool access.

This January, we took another road trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to tour the University of Arkansas with my daughter’s friend and her mom.  For this visit, the four of us stayed at the Graduate Fayetteville right off the Downtown Square and just minutes from campus. 

This hotel has a completely different but equally charming look!  From the building’s plaid façade to the rustic lobby, Graduate Fayetteville is full of local stories and UArk nostalgia.  The girls enjoyed seeing the university connection and flipping through the pages of old yearbooks in the lobby.

The hotel is in a great location close to the happenings on Dickson Street and campus.  Complimentary bike rentals are even available through the front desk!  Just a note, this is the foothills of the Ozarks so be prepared, lol.

The next time you find yourself headed to a university town, check the list of Graduate Hotels!  I’m telling you, no other hotels come close to telling a community’s story like Graduate Hotels.
