Are you a fan of horror movies? Be a part of the story at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights. Halloween Horror Nights (known to its cult following as HHN), is unlike any other haunted house that you have been to. There are 10 houses inspired by your favorite horror movies, five scare zones, two live shows, and themed food and drink options all located throughout Universal Studios Orlando.

2021 was the 30th anniversary of HHN at Universal Orlando and they celebrated with 30 years of fears.
2021 houses included:
I will be honest and tell you that although I love a good haunted house, I am not a fan of horror movies. I decided to go to HHN last year with my son just to know what to expect so that I can share my experience with my clients. If you tend to get a little scared (like I do), your best option is start at the park during the day. You will see the props and scare zones already out so you will have a better idea of what to expect once the sun goes down. I asked a team member where to start with the least scary house, and they recommended me to start with the Beetlejuice house. The anxiety waiting in line by myself had me scared enough, I didn’t need someone else to scare me! (Side note, if you are scared, don’t go by yourself. That wasn’t my plan, but even travel agents don’t have control over flight delays.) Once I acclimated myself to the vibe, (Beetlejuice turned out to be a great place to start), I was able to relax a little bit and “enjoy” a few more houses. My husband and my son went back the next night and completed all ten of the houses. To hear more about my and their experiences, listen to the short podcast Matthew and I recorded here.
The full 2022 house lineup has not been announced yet, but the lineup so far includes The Horrors of Blumhouse, Halloween, and Universal Monsters: Legends Collide.
HHN is a separately ticketed event and is not included in your daytime admission cost or with an annual pass.
Ticket options include single-night passes, multi-night passes, HHN express passes, and special tours. It is important to note that ride express passes and express passes included with your preferred hotel stay are not valid during HHN. HHN houses require a separate HHN express pass.
Another option to skip the lines at the houses is a R.I.P. Tour. This guided V.I.P. tour gets you priority entry to the houses (once per house), a commemorative R.I.P. tour lanyard and pin, complimentary valet parking, pre-tour reception in Café La Bamba, reserved seating at select event shows during the tour, and unlimited express ride access before or after the event hours. The R.I.P. tour is in addition to HHN admission and does not include the admission ticket. There are small group and private tour options available.
If the nighttime HHN scene is too much for you, there is an option to experience the houses without the scare-factor during the day. The Behind the Screams: Unmasking the Horror tour is a daytime V.I.P. tour with the lights on. You can choose from a 3-house or a 6-house informational tour with exclusive access to photograph select rooms in select houses.
Make sure you download the app to help you navigate the events. The app lists the wait times of the houses, a map with the location of each house, scare zone, specialty food and drink stands, and the show times.
It is important to note that the event is held rain or shine and is non-refundable. Due to the nature of the content, it is not recommended for children under the age of 13 (or terrified women over the age of 40…). As a parent, I understand that each child is different and only you know your child and what he/she can handle. Please use your own discretion when making a decision to purchase tickets for children.

Most importantly, remember….NEVER. GO. ALONE.
