Hello travel-loving friends! Gifting Season is here, and Pineapple Escapes always takes a different approach to gifting. Listen to our recent podcast “Gifting Travel” for more on that, but we also like to gift items that help us travel smarter and get us even more excited about an upcoming trip! Every item on this guide are things that our agents legit love, want, or are gifting to others.
The older I get, the less stuff I really want, which is why we typically choose to give experiences over traditional gifts. That isn’t to say that we don’t give gifts that are meaningful in other ways. For this guide, I chose items that are functional, practical, and will make your trip so much more enjoyable. Some items have been recommended over and over by our agents because we love them so much! You can also find more of our travel favs at our Amazon shop.
There is a little something here for almost everyone, and I’d be really happy to receive any one of these gifts. I’m particularly drawn to the personal safety alarm, because it is something I would carry with me at all times. There’s a few ladies in my life that will be on the receiving end of the mini photo printer and infinity scarf!
The thing I’ve learned about (most) guys is that they love to have cool stuff, but don’t like to go shopping for it. Here are a few cool things that they will definitely love! My guy really likes the field bag and Ray-Ban’s, but he loves a multi-tool too!
My kids are 6 and 2 years old. Every one of these items are something we have and love, or they will be getting under the tree this year. They each have their own Fire Tablet. These things have been dropped about 1000 times, but just keep working like they did straight out of the box! They come with several fun, educational games and videos preloaded. They’re honestly a lifesaver when we are on a long trip, and I need them to stay entertained. We also keep other books and games on hand, so they don’t get overloaded with screen time.
Eeeeeps!! I know a pre-teen that’s getting this Herschel belt bag and a Polaroid Go this Christmas! These gifts are all about giving the bigger kids some freedom to explore and capture their own moments to remember. Most older kids have their own smartphones these days too, so it makes sense for them to have a portable charger as well. This is the one I have, and it’s perfect! Lightweight and has several micro USB cables already built-in. At what age are you providing your kids with their own cell phones? I honestly need to know, so I can prepare myself.
You’re probably wondering why there’s a genetic DNA test on this list. I know so many people that like to visit places their ancestors came from, and to connect with their roots. It’s why I took two years of high school French, when Spanish would have likely been more useful. LOL! This gift would be such a fun and different kind of gift, and it may shape the way you plan future trips.
Being away from home for a long period is kind of nerve-wracking. My husband always hates those final moments of walking around the house to be sure we’ve done everything to protect the home while we’re away. The Alexa enabled Ring video doorbell and alarm kit would be such an added layer comfort by allowing us to monitor our home remotely. I’m also getting him a couple Smart Plugs, because he likes to have lights turn on and off throughout the house to fool any potential burglars. Lastly, the roomba is simply a wonderful thing to have when you’re rushing to get packed and don’t have time to clean the floors, or you’re trying to unpack and don’t have time to clean the floors, or you’re Christmas shopping online and don’t have time to clean the floors. You get the vibe I’m sending?
Whatever you give or receive this Holiday Season, we hope it is full of joy!
