Sometimes there just aren’t enough days of vacation in a year, so taking getaways over long-weekends can be a way to explore and see more, while saving vacation days for longer trips. This week Jennifer and Jamie discuss some weekend getaways they have enjoyed in the Midwest.

Slice of Life

Jennifer is a teacher and has had to adjust to the new COVID procedures and protocols at her school. She does feel that life is slowly returning to normal. She is impressed by how resilient the kids have been throughout the pandemic. Jennifer is excited to be a part of the Pineapple Escapes team and is really enjoying booking travel for her clients.

At The Core

There are so many fun weekend getaways from the Midwest. Jennifer is from Evansville, Indiana and has enjoyed traveling to St. Louis, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Louisville for weekend getaways with her kiddos. Now that her kids are in college they have found they are exploring different places and they are excited to explore further north as their daughter, Jessica, is now in grad school in Milwaukee.

Jamie’s family is further north and lives near Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. Her family has enjoyed numerous weekend trips in Michigan and Wisconsin, as well as trips to cities for the weekend such as St. Louis, Indy, and Chicago.

Travel agents are always happy to book large trips for families, but can also help with shorter weekend escapes too. The Pineapple Escapes Team is always working together to share our ideas for travel!

Crushed It

This week’s travel favorite is a travel backpack that Jennifer recommends.

She loves that it is a great price, durable, has lots of pockets, and is perfect for travel. She ranks it as 4 Pineapple Rings! Jamie also mentions that it would be great as part of a color-coded travel set for kids with packing cubes and other travel items.
