Restaurants
The Beach House
This open-air Caribbean-inspired restaurant, located beachside on the warm, powder-white sand, serves a delectable assortment of international cuisine and a la carte breakfast, lunch, and supper selections. Signature delicacies include the savory License to Chill Burger and fresh ahi poke nachos, all served in a relaxed but refined setting. Use the poker menu to boost the ante by letting the cards choose a meal for you.
Rita’s Taco House
Rita’s Taco House serves margaritas made with top-shelf tequilas and mezcals, as well as typical beach-inspired dishes with tastes from around Mexico. This seaside guest favorite, named after one of the characters in the song “Margaritaville,” is a terrific place for lunch, supper, and plenty of surprises. Here you’ll find mariachi performances, tequila tastings, and cubilete dice games, among other things. Make sure to taste the trademark Shark Bite taco or XXL Al Pastor Burrito, as well as the unique License to Chill margarita. Drink service is also available at the pool, allowing you to order all of your favorite beverages while relaxing in the sunshine.
Latino
Latino combines Latin tastes with Asian ingredients and cooking techniques to bring the best of two culinary traditions. Dinner here is like taking a flight on Jimmy Buffett’s personal seaplane, the Hemisphere Dancer, with stops in the world’s most renowned culinary cities from east to west. In a trendy dining area, savor arepas, patacones, cachapas, and curries cooked with the freshest ingredients.
Frank & Lola’s
Frank & Lola’s, named after Jimmy Buffett’s 1985 classic from the album Last Mango in Paris, is one of the most popular places for a romantic meal. Check the blackboard inside the restaurant for Frank and Lola’s romantic love story if you’re wondering about the song’s origins. The food is equally as unforgettable as the restaurant’s name suggests. Dinner consists of housemade pasta, traditional Italian fare, and exquisite Old World wines (and the New). Make sure to get their unique dish, a tiramisu that is prepared at the table.
Bars
Your favorite vacation cocktails are always close at reach at Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancn’s six distinctive bars. Furthermore, each bar has its own specialty drink that you should try. At Compass Bar, you’ll discover a mind-boggling selection of top-shelf rum and tequila, as well as interactive menus that make each order a fascinating and surprising adventure. Every drink at License to Chill comes with a side of sea breezes and ocean views. With live music and engaging activities, our legendary 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar takes poolside drinks to the next level. At S.O.S. Swim-Up Bar, you can even enjoy your favorite drinks without leaving the pool.
Margaritaville Island Reserve was the perfect resort to relax and enjoy a beautiful beach, and enjoy some of the best food I have eaten at an all-inclusive resort, including a floating taco bar available at an additional cost. I loved that while it offered so much, it was actually geographically in a small area, allowing you to quickly get anywhere within the resort. I also liked that rather than having your room stocked with standard drinks and snacks, you are provided an allowance based on you room level and length of stay to pick your items from Joe Merchant’s Coffee & Provisions. Plus, you get free flip flops and a margarita popsicle at check in!
