Montauk with Families

Montauk is a beachy destination for families to vacation on what is called literally, “The End” of Long Island on the South Fork. It is no surprise that all types of families gather here every summer to enjoy all she has to offer.

Montauk is home to many beautiful places to stay, across from the beach or just a short drive away from it. Montauk’s mentionable places to spend a week or long weekend include but are not limited to Solé East (a swanky boutique type of resort) and Solé Beach which boasts total beachy vibes, in a small property right across from the beach where you can swim, sunbathe, and enjoy other leisurely activities.

One of the most well-known landmarks here is The Montauk Lighthouse which is not within walking distance, but rather accessible bicycle or car. Take a 30 minute walk around the lighthouse, walk inside and see the breathtaking views of the water from many angles. Tourists flock here to see the sunset and waves hitting the rocks year round. Stop inside a  shop for magnet, t-shirt, shot glass, or other souvenir of your choice to commemorate your trip!

Quaint shops, local eateries, and bars are lined up on Montauk Highway, but don’t be afraid to wander off the beaten path to fabulous spots such as the Montauk Brewing Company where you can grab an ice cold refreshment to then relax at the Montauk Salt Cave, and wind down with a fabulous dinner at Harvest on the Pond. Be sure to make reservations at hotspots like Harvest on the Pond, as they tend to book way in advance and wait times can be extremely long if you do not have a reservation!

Take a drive over to Gurney’s Montauk Resort and people watch at the bar! This hotspot was a filming location for the Real Housewives of NY! If you’re looking for an outdoor restaurant with a stunning location for sunset and cocktails, look no further than Navy Beach! Navy Beach is known for its, as you can probably guess, beach, but that’s not all! The food, ambiance and of course drinks cannot be beat. Ask for a pitcher of the Undertow and their truffle mac and cheese (tip: if you love gruyere and cheddar you won’t want to share this) and grab yourself a spot on the lounge seats, and soak up the sun!
