My Favorite WDW Spa Deal

During my recent Walt Disney World trip, I headed to the Grand Floridian to check out their recent renovation and a secret Disney deal. I was thrilled to find out that not only was this secret steal of a deal real, but it was even better than I thought it’d be!

Part of being a travel agent that specializes in Disney luxury is keeping up with the changes and new experiences through regular trips plus routinely scouring the internet for any fun secrets/tips to share with clients. Right before my trip, I saw a post sharing that you could book an appointment for just $20 to have your hair done with a ‘simple braid’ (meaning French or Dutch, one or two) at the Grand Floridian Spa. While this may not be exciting for people who are great hair braiders or have access to someone who braids, I have extremely thick/long hair and cannot braid. I made an appointment and was excited to check out this Disney deal during a few quiet hours before attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

The Grand Floridian Spa is located in the area of the resort that borders the Polynesian and is currently undergoing some updates so their hours are greatly reduced. When I arrived, I was lucky enough to be the only one in the check-in and ladies’ locker room area, so I was able to snag some great pictures and get some great intel from the wonderful people who work there. The check-in area was stocked with a plethora of products perfect for soothing any Disney stress, and so were the locker areas. I love a ‘free’ snack or drink, and I was happy to see that there were a few nibbles and unlimited tea/spa water available. The real shock (and value!) came at the end of the tour when I was offered a locker and spa robe/slippers so I could take full advantage of the quiet room, the heated loungers, the steam room, or the whirlpool spa during my visit. These perks skyrocket the value of the simple $20 braid appointment, to one of the best deals in Walt Disney World!

I’d encourage anyone who has a couple of hours to spare and is looking for some quiet relaxation to consider booking a $20 simple braid appointment and enjoying some quiet relaxation at the Grand Floridian Spa during their next magical Walt Disney World vacation. The spa offers a wide variety of therapies and services if you’re interested in taking your relaxation to the next level (I know next time I’ll be making space in the schedule for a massage!), and is for adults 18 and up. There are teen services for ages 14-17, but they must be accompanied during their spa experience.
