There are so many amazing indoor water parks in the United States, it was really hard to narrow it down to my favorite. Considering I’m from Iowa, most of my favorites are located within the Midwest, as these are easy to go to for a long weekend.
I’m going to share with you my Top 5 Favorite Indoor Waterparks, and I would love to know which ones are your favorite too!
Number 5 – SoundWaves at Gaylord Opryland Resort
This may be one you’re not as familiar with, but it has everything you may look for in an indoor waterpark. SoundWaves at the Gaylord Opryland Resort located in Nashville, Tennessee, features slides, pools, and a surf simulator. This is a very nice resort in itself but also a great place to stay if you are planning to spend a few days seeing the sights of Nashville.
Number 4 – Kalahari Resort
If you don’t already know, the Wisconsin Dells is one of the best places to visit if you want to do a waterpark because there are so many to choose from! Number 4 on my list is Kalahari Resort, as it offers both an indoor and outdoor waterpark. No matter the weather, you can still make it a great vacation!
Number 3 – Wilderness Resort
The Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort, located in the Wisconsin Dells, features 4 indoor waterparks and 4 outdoor waterparks. America’s Largest Water Park Resort features a spa and great dining. If you haven’t made the trip to the Wisconsin Dells, we’d love to help you plan your next vacation there.
Number 2 – Watiki Indoor Waterpark
This next waterpark is definitely one close to my heart, as it was the very first waterpark our kids ever went to. Watiki Indoor Waterpark is located in Rapid City. While it’s definitely not the biggest or newest, it’s still loads of fun. With a lazy river, slides, and a fun splash zone for the kids, you will easily spend hours playing in the water.
Number 1 – Great Wolf Lodge
I love Great Wolf Lodge because as soon as you step into the resort it’s an adventure in itself. With great lodging choices that include bunk beds to bear caves, you will sleep soundly in comfortable and cozy rooms. Great Wolf Lodge has waterslides, lazy rivers, arcades, all-inclusive dining options, and so much more! Don’t forget to purchase a Pup Pass as your all-access play pass for the arcade – different price levels are available for any budget! As an added bonus, there are 19 Lodges across North America, even one in Canada. Have you ever stayed at a Great Wolf Lodge? Contact your Pineapple Escapes agent to help book your weekend getaway!
I have to leave you with one final bonus waterpark. This one is especially great for all my Iowa clients. Kingspointe Waterpark in Storm Lake, Iowa, has tons of fun slides, a lazy river, children’s play area, and indoor and outdoor activity fun. Plus, it’s reasonably priced so it makes for a great day trip or weekend getaway! I love the view outside as it sits right next to the beautiful lake.
